Serve Guests Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Or Other Trendy Dishes At Your Next Party

By Paul Murphy

When it comes to planning a small gathering of friends or coworkers, food and entertainment tend to be the wow factor. Depending on the guests, this need not be fancy or expensive but often the unique factor can make any event stand apart. New culinary delights, like salted caramel hot chocolate or avocado toast, are sure to be a hit with some.

This is not to be confused with something that tastes sugary or leaves a slight aftertaste. Rich cocoa powder and real buttery caramel blend together to make a slightly denser version of this childhood favorite. The great news is there are some fantastic recipes that are made for discriminating tastes. No more waiting in long lines at the coffee shop or trendy restaurant.

The idea serving display will have a dozen or so small mugs or cups next to a tray of slightly sweet baked goods. Hard cookies with a mild flavor, like Danish butter, are the best choices since they will not overpower the taste of the chocolate. Guests may find this to be a nice dessert alternative.

Avocado toast is something that most people do not understand until they have tried it for themselves. Normally made with sliced artisan grain bread that has been toasted with garlic oil or butter before joining with smashed or sliced avocados, there are many possibilities. Some people top with baby spinach leaves, a fried egg, or sliced tomatoes.

This is not only simple to make but is considered healthy when topped with fruits, protein, or vegetables. It is also very filling for an early morning that is not fried or covered in sugar. To make appetizers, should cut bread into small pieces after toasting with a dollop of mashed avocado and a modest selection of toppings. These may include bacon bits, cheese crumbles, or dried fruit pieces.

Cauliflower is another vegetable that is becoming popular. It is used to make rice dishes, used in pizza dough, and is a vegetarian alternative to buffalo wings. The latter recipe calls for florets that have been lightly fried or oven roasted before covering in buffalo sauce. Most who have tried this say the slightly bitter texture is nowhere to be found and is great for everyday snacking.

Preparing most of these dishes is fairly easy for those who like to hang out in the kitchen. While some like to make their hot chocolate from scratch, there are some kits that offer that same restaurant quality. The only thing that users should note is if they select another type of milk other than what is indicated. Nut or plant beverages do not always retain their texture in the heat.

Although some kids may like this drink, grownups should have something special for themselves. Sometimes kids like the sweetness of milk chocolate, which gives this drink a different profile. While a shot of rum or vodka may be the ideal chaser for those especially tense days, many who have tried this say the natural flavors are more than enough for a nice mental escape from reality.
